Whispering Pines went into New Monkey studios with good friend, co producer & engineer Jason Soda (Everest,Slydel,Watson Twins) the winter of 2009 to track Family Tree. We are proponents of analogue gear so naturally the album was recorded to 2 inch tape using a MCi JH24 machine and a 1970 Trident "A" Range console (1 of only 13 in existence). The album was mastered by our new pal J.J. at Golden Mastering in Ventura (Vetiver, Jonathan Wilson). J.J. worked from our 1/2 inch mixdowns and the album was mastered for a vinyl release. Hopefully we will have it available on 180 gram for you very soon.
Family Tree, self-released in January 2010, is now available at Amoeba Music (L.A. & San Fran), McCabes in Santa Monica, After the Gold Rush Records in Nevada City CA & Zia Records in Arizona!
